Initially constructed as part of a monastery in 1103, the church underwent reconstruction in 1151, incorporating elements of Galician artistry and Northern Portuguese design.
The north portal tympanum presents a dragon and griffin illustration, while the main portal depicts a bishop with two deacons alongside symbolic figures.
Located on Estrada Nacional 206, the church requires advance arrangements for visits, though entry remains free for all interested individuals.
The capitals within the structure display medieval poet-musicians playing instruments, representing a rare example of period musical documentation in stone.
