The Cividade de Terroso stands on elevated terrain, featuring ancient stone structures and defensive walls that outline the settlement's original layout.
The settlement dates back to between 900 and 800 BC, serving as a Celtic castro city that remained inhabited through the Roman period.
The excavated site reveals detailed information about daily life through recovered artifacts, including pottery, tools, and household items from ancient inhabitants.
Visitors can access the site via local roads from Póvoa de Varzim, located 5 kilometers south of the archaeological complex.
The hillfort contains an extensive water management system, including an aqueduct constructed in the 17th century with 999 arches.
