Congregados Basilica, Baroque basilica in São José de São Lázaro, Portugal.
The Congregados Basilica features two bell towers crowned with spires and a main facade oriented to the north with pronounced vertical lines.
Construction of the basilica began in 1703, with initial consecration in 1717, though completion of towers and facade statues extended into the 20th century.
The main chapel contains a notable painting called 'Mystic Lamb' by Josefa de Óbidos and houses four side chapels on each side with gilded altarpieces.
Located at Avenida Central 98 in Braga, the basilica operates from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays with reduced hours during weekends.
A small aircraft crashed into one of the basilica towers on July 14, 1944, resulting in the death of pilot Fernando Sanches Ferreira de Sousa de Magalhães.
