Jardim do Morro

Jardim do Morro is a park on high ground overlooking Porto and the Douro River below. The space includes walking paths, seating areas, and different zones for visitors to sit and take in the cityscape.

The park was created in 1927 and kept much of its original form for decades. In the early 2010s, improvements were made to handle more visitors and refresh the space.

The space draws people together as a place to watch the day end over Porto and its riverside setting. It has become a gathering spot where both residents and visitors share the same view and moment.

The park is easily reached by cable car from Vila Nova de Gaia. Plan your visit for late afternoon when the light is best and the crowds thin out.

The park holds an open-air amphitheater and a historic grotto with a small lake that many visitors miss. These hidden features give the place more character than just the viewpoint.
