Praia da Terra Estreita

Praia da Terra Estreita is a sandy beach framed by natural dunes along the Atlantic Ocean in eastern Algarve. The shore is narrow and intimate, with dunes that protect the coastline and create a sheltered setting.

This location lies within Ria Formosa, a lagoon and island system that has shaped the Algarve coast since ancient times. The system has supported fishing and maritime activity for centuries across the region.

The beach connects to Santa Luzia village, visible from the shore, where fishing families still live and work as they have for generations. Local restaurants nearby serve seafood caught in the surrounding waters.

Access is only by boat from Santa Luzia harbor, with service available throughout the year. Bring sturdy footwear and sun protection, as the water crossing and open beach offer no shade.

Wooden boardwalks cross the dunes, allowing visitors to walk above fragile vegetation without causing damage. These pathways pass through areas where uncommon coastal wildflowers bloom, adding character to the shore.
