Terra Estreita presents a 50-meter-wide stretch of golden sand bordered by natural dunes along the Atlantic Ocean in the eastern Algarve region.
The beach forms part of Ria Formosa, a coastal lagoon system that has protected the Algarve shoreline and supported maritime activities since Roman times.
Local fishermen from Santa Luzia village maintain their traditional octopus catching methods, supplying fresh seafood to the restaurants near the beach.
Visitors reach the beach by taking a boat from Santa Luzia harbor, with services running every hour from June through October between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
The beach contains raised wooden walkways that cross over protected sand dunes where native sea daffodils grow in substantial numbers.
