Praia do Magoito

Praia do Magoito is an Atlantic beach with golden sand stretching between dark cliffs and scattered rocks along its shoreline. The beach offers parking, sunshade rentals, showers, a restaurant, and a bar for visitor needs.

The northern section features a consolidated dune formed over thousands of years through continuous sand accumulation by wind and sea action. This geological formation shows how the coast has been shaped by natural forces over an extended period.

The beach keeps its natural feel within the Sintra-Cascais National Park, offering something different from the busier commercial beaches found elsewhere along the coast. Visitors value the quieter and less crowded experience it provides.

The beach is easier to access at low tide when more sand and walking space appear. Wearing sturdy shoes is wise because of the rocks, and watching wave conditions is important, especially during rough seas.

The seawater here contains one of the highest iodine levels among European beaches. Even in summer the water temperature stays quite cool, offering a refreshing experience for swimmers.
