The golden sand beach stretches over 850 meters along the Serra de Sintra coastline, bordered by steep cliffs and facing the Atlantic Ocean.
Students discovered dinosaur footprints dating back 110 million years in the southern cliffs, belonging to Megalosaurus and Iguanodons species.
The beach regularly hosts European surfing competitions and world bodyboarding championships, attracting participants from numerous countries throughout the year.
Bus routes 439 and 441 connect to Sintra train station, while multiple restaurants and bars along the beachfront provide dining options.
At the northern end stands a 100-meter saltwater swimming pool, integrated into Hotel Arribas, functioning as an alternative during strong ocean currents.
