Anta de Adrenunes, Prehistoric dolmen near Colares, Portugal.
The Anta de Adrenunes consists of granite stones forming a gallery structure measuring 5 meters in height with horizontal monoliths resting on vertical stones.
Located in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, this Stone Age monument was first excavated by Joaquim Possidónio Narciso da Silva between 1806 and 1896.
The megalithic structure represents early human architectural capabilities, combining natural granite formations with deliberately positioned stone arrangements oriented toward sunset.
The archaeological site remains open throughout the day and night, requiring visitors to walk one kilometer from the nearest paved road.
A geodesic landmark has been integrated into one of the upper stones of the monument, marking its location at 426 meters above sea level.
