Alte Waterfall

The Alte waterfall drops about 24 meters into a large natural pool and is surrounded by limestone rock formations that give the place a rocky character. Around it are green areas and quiet spots to sit by the water.

The waterfall is located in the village of Alte, which shows settlement traces from Roman times and preserves building elements from different periods. The village itself has a long history in which water played an important role.

The waterfall draws both locals and visitors who spend time swimming and cooling off during the warmer months. The rocky pools and flowing water have made it a natural gathering place where people escape the heat.

You can reach the waterfall on foot via a trail behind the cemetery that connects easily to the village. There are picnic areas and seating spots where visitors can spend time comfortably.

This spot is part of a series of limestone tufa cascades along the Alte river created by continuous mineral deposits in the water. This geological feature makes the rock formations visibly distinctive and explains why the base has such a characteristic appearance.
