Church of St Martin, Parish church in São Martinho, Funchal, Portugal
The Church of St Martin stands with stone-carved details on its exterior and contains three artistic panels depicting religious scenes inside its walls.
The construction of the church started in 1883, but financial limitations halted progress until 1907 when José de Abreu's inheritance funded its completion.
The church serves as the center for St Martin's Day celebrations on November 10 and 11, when the community gathers for traditional food and wine.
Regular services take place on Sundays from 10:00 to 12:00, Mondays through Fridays from 18:00 to 19:00, and Saturdays from 19:00 to 20:00.
Located at coordinates 32.649139°N and -16.943972°W, this religious building replaced a smaller church that could no longer accommodate the growing congregation.
