Praia de Miramar

Praia de Miramar is a beach with golden sand and rock outcrops along the Atlantic coast near Porto. The shoreline features a neighboring golf course and a walkway that runs along the water's edge.

A chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Pedra was built in 1686 on a rocky outcrop, marking a significant shift in how the site was used and honored. The location had held religious importance long before this stone structure was erected.

This sandy and rocky coastline is where locals practice traditional fishing and gather to watch the sunset over the Atlantic. The surrounding area reflects how Portuguese coastal communities have adapted their daily routines around the sea's rhythms.

The warmest and most pleasant months are from May to September, when the water is comfortable and the beach is generally less crowded. Walking from the nearby train station is the most straightforward way to reach the sand and water.

The shoreline actually comprises three connected sections, each with distinct characteristics and uses for visitors. This layout allows different areas to offer varied experiences within the same coastal location.
