Praia Dunas Mar

Praia Dunas Mar is a sand beach on the Atlantic coast featuring a broad shoreline and wooden footbridges that connect different sections. The beach includes shower facilities, restrooms, and beachfront refreshment stands throughout the area.

The area began as a fishing community and gradually became a recreational destination following the development of coastal infrastructure in Vila Nova de Gaia. This transformation made the location accessible to swimmers and tourists.

The beach serves as a gathering place where locals and visitors spend time together, particularly during summer months, enjoying swimming and seaside walks. People come here to experience the open coastline and the rhythm of daily seaside life.

Lifeguard services operate from June through September, providing supervision for swimmers. It is advisable to use the established pathways and explore the natural rock areas carefully during low tide periods.

Natural rock formations create temporary pools during low tide where small marine creatures become visible to visitors. These shallow basins offer a rare glimpse into coastal marine life.
