Medgidia clinker storage facility, Cement storage facility in Medgidia, Romania
The clinker storage facility in Medgidia is an industrial complex with a large dome structure designed to store cement clinker. Below the dome, multiple tunnels house equipment for moving and handling the stored materials.
The facility was built following an agreement between Lafarge Cement Romania and Dome Technology in 2007, with construction completing in 2009. This marked a major expansion of cement production capabilities in the region.
The construction process integrated Romanian and Polish workers, contributing to the regional industrial development of Constanta County.
The site operates as a working industrial facility and is not open for public tours. Visitors in the area can observe the distinctive dome structure from surrounding roads.
The facility uses a Geopier foundation system that shortened construction time by avoiding deep foundation work. This specialized engineering approach allowed the massive dome to be built more efficiently.
