Pelișor Castle, Art Nouveau castle in Sinaia, Romania
The castle contains more than 100 rooms decorated with Florentine, Moorish, and Turkish elements within the Peles Castle complex near the Carpathian Mountains.
King Carol I commissioned the construction of Pelisor Castle between 1899 and 1903 as a residence for King Ferdinand I and Queen Marie of Romania.
Czech architect Karel Liman designed the castle, while Viennese designer Bernhard Ludwig created the interior decorations under Queen Marie's artistic direction.
The castle museum opens Wednesday through Sunday from May to September, with modified hours during winter months and annual maintenance in late October.
The hall of honor features oak-timber walls and a glass ceiling, while the golden room displays specific design elements from the royal inhabitants.
