Iulia Hasdeu Castle, Historic house in Câmpina, Romania.
Iulia Hasdeu Castle is a historic house in Câmpina, Prahova County, Romania. It consists of several themed rooms, including a tower with religious imagery and a sculpture crafted by Raphael Casciani.
A father built the structure in the late 19th century after losing his daughter. The site opened to the public in 1965 and was restored following the 1977 earthquake.
The builder named the structure after his daughter and furnished the rooms with paintings and furniture still on display today. Visitors can see works by local artists and understand how a wealthy family lived in the 19th century.
The museum opens daily except Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Audio guides are available in several languages to help visitors understand the rooms.
One room in the building was dedicated to spiritualist sessions and contains a stone dove. Next to this room stands an astronomical telescope the owner used to observe the sky.
