Cantacuzino Palace in Florești, Prahova, Romania, Historic monument in Florești, Romania
The Cantacuzino Palace features ten neoclassical columns on its main facade, decorated with a sculpted family coat of arms on white limestone walls.
The palace construction started in 1911 under architect Ion Berindey, incorporating modern techniques like reinforced concrete and railway tracks for efficient material transportation.
The palace gardens, designed by French landscape architect Emile Pinard, follow the French formal garden style with multiple terraces descending toward Prahova Valley.
The ground floor contains fifteen rooms, including a 70-square-meter ceremonial hall built with Albești stone cladding on brick foundation walls.
During World War I, German forces removed copper roofing and terracotta stoves, marking the beginning of the palace's gradual deterioration.
