Podul Grant

Podul Grant is a concrete bridge in Bucharest that crosses Giulești Boulevard and railroad tracks. It connects Crângași Square with Turda Street through multiple traffic lanes and a tram line.

The original structure was built as a steel bridge in 1910. It underwent a complete reconstruction between 1979 and 1982 to handle growing traffic demands in the expanding city.

The name comes from Effingham Grant, a British consul who worked in Bucharest during the 1800s. His influence on local infrastructure development is still visible today through this structure's name.

The bridge provides multiple lanes for vehicles and tram line 41, which connects different parts of northern Bucharest. For pedestrians, it is important to stick to designated pathways since traffic here can be quite heavy.

The bridge sits near the stadium of Rapid Budapest football club and becomes especially important on match days. This location is deeply tied to local sports culture and is regularly visited by fans.
