Veronica Micle memorial house in Târgu Neamț

The Veronica Micle memorial house is a wooden and brick structure in Târgu Neamț with three rooms and a porch that showcase the poet's daily surroundings. The rooms contain her belongings, handwritten manuscripts, and photographs that chronicle her life and work.

The building was constructed in 1834 by Neamt Monastery as a guest house and purchased in 1850 by Ana Câmpeanu, Veronica Micle's mother. The property later became a memorial space dedicated to the notable Romanian poet.

The house displays letters and poems exchanged between Veronica Micle and Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu, discovered after more than a century of being hidden. These writings reveal the literary connection between two significant voices in Romanian poetry.

The memorial house is located on Stefan cel Mare Street and is open Tuesday through Sunday with hours that vary by season. Visitors should plan ahead as opening times change throughout the year, and admission requires a fee.

The museum preserves a collection of personal objects including a crystal mirror, a Viennese table, hunting binoculars, and a plaster cast of Eminescu's burial mask. These items offer direct insight into the poet's material world and connections to other literary figures of her era.
