Colegiul Național « Roman-Vodă »

The Colegiul Național Roman-Vodă is a grand school building from 1899 with a symmetrical design that reflects the classical educational architecture of its era. The structure stands on Mihai Eminescu Street and continues to operate as a functioning school while holding protected monument status.

The school started in 1872 as a gymnasium with just two teachers and later grew into a secondary school. This expansion happened in 1919 after the institution survived the challenges of World War I.

The college is deeply rooted in the town's identity and serves as a center for learning with an attached collection of artifacts. The Hogaș Villa on its grounds houses books and school items that tell the story of how education developed in this area.

During World War II, the building served as a military hospital while students and teachers moved their classes to Dumbrăveni. This relocation shows how the school adapted to survive the wartime disruption.
