Conacul Cantacuzino-Pașcanu din Popești

Conacul Cantacuzino-Pașcanu is a manor in Popești with a rectangular layout, vaulted underground cellars, and perimeter walls that reflect 19th-century noble architecture. The manor was built in 1840 by Dumitrache Cantacuzino-Pașcanu, replacing an earlier residence that had belonged to the Mavrocordat family. This construction marked the transition of the estate to a new aristocratic lineage and period of development.

This manor functioned as a social hub for Moldavian nobility, hosting Prince Grigore Ghica and other important figures of the period. The spaces reveal how such residences served as centers of influence and gatherings for the regional elite.
