Talpalari Church, Orthodox church in Iași, Romania.

Talpalari Church is an Orthodox church in Iași built with a cross-shaped layout and a semi-spherical dome supported by sturdy arches. The interior features neo-Renaissance artwork from 1886 that was added during the church's reconstruction.

The church was founded around 1640 by Iordache Cantacuzino, an official who served the voivode Vasile Lupu. A severe fire in 1827 destroyed it completely, and the building was fully reconstructed afterward.

The church takes its name from the shoemakers who crafted soles, called tălpălari, and once ran workshops throughout this neighborhood. This craft tradition left a lasting mark on the area's identity and character.

The church sits near the city center on Tălpălari Street and is typically open during service times for visitors to enter. It is helpful to check local information about visiting hours beforehand, as these may shift according to religious celebrations.

Inside the church is a Byzantine-style mosaic depicting the Resurrection located in the crypt beneath the nave. This intricate artwork was created after 1989 during the building's modern renovation phase.
