Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre Iași, Neoclassical theatre in Iași, Romania
The theatre building features a triangular pediment with mythological figures, composite column capitals, and geometric decorations on exterior balconies.
The current structure, designed by architects Fellner and Helmer, opened in 1896 after a fire destroyed the original building in 1888.
The main hall displays pastel-themed ceiling paintings by Alexander Goltz depicting paradise allegories within Rococo stucco frames.
The Grand Hall contains 750 seats arranged across three levels, including a royal box and designated seating for local personalities.
The interior decoration required seven kilograms of gold for the stucco and ornamental coverings throughout the performance hall.
