Preparandia Română, Pedagogical school building in Arad, Romania.
The Preparandia Română stands as a two-story educational structure with classical architectural elements in the center of Arad at 13 Preparandiei Street.
Established in 1812 under Emperor Francis I's decree, this institution became the first Romanian teacher training school in Transylvania with 67 students and four professors.
The school played a central role in developing Romanian language education during the 19th century, training generations of teachers for Transylvanian communities.
The building, designated as a historical monument under code AR-II-m-B-00537, was purchased by Arad Municipality in 2008 for conversion into an educational museum.
Director Dimitrie Țichindeal documented the school's inauguration in an 1813 brochure, highlighting the educational needs of the Romanian population in Transylvania.
