High School of Arts, Târgu Mureș

The High School of Arts in Târgu Mureș is a lyceum offering programs in visual arts, music, and performing arts. The main building displays neo-Baroque elements from 1882, while newer sections house classrooms, practice rooms, and spaces designed for student performances and exhibitions.

Founded in the late 1700s as a Roman Catholic school for girls, the institution was nationalized in 1945 and reorganized as an Art Lyceum. This transition marked the beginning of its current focus on artistic training for students of all backgrounds.

Students here learn in both Romanian and Hungarian, reflecting the mixed cultural heritage of the region. This bilingual approach shapes the daily rhythm of artistic work and community events held within the school.
