The White Bridge spans the Vranje River with its arched structure made entirely of white stone blocks placed in traditional Ottoman patterns.
Built in 1844 during Ottoman administration, this crossing point stands as one of the main elements featured on the city coat of arms.
The bridge carries a marble plaque with an inscription encouraging people to cross it while mentioning the health benefits of the water below.
Located in the old quarters of Vranje on Devet Jugovića Street, the bridge underwent reconstruction in 2006 to ensure its preservation.
Local tales connect the bridge to a romance between Aisha, a Turkish governor's daughter, and Stojan, a Serbian shepherd, which ended in tragedy.
