Kuća Bore Stankovića

Bora Stankovićs house is a two-story residential building with Balkan-Oriental architecture, featuring an open porch, terrace, and several rooms with original furnishings. The courtyard and room layout show how people lived during that period.

The house was built between 1840 and 1845 and belonged to the family of Serbian writer Bora Stankovićs, who spent his childhood and youth there. The place shaped his early years and influenced his later writing.

The house shows how wealthy Serbian families lived and worked in the 19th century. Visitors see everyday objects, furniture, and handwritten documents that reveal how important family and craftsmanship were at that time.

The location is easily reached on foot through Vranje's old town, and the rooms are straightforward to walk through. It helps to move slowly through the spaces to properly observe the details and setup.

A religious icon of Saint Nicholas hangs in the guest room and shows this saint was the family's protector. Visitors can also see original manuscripts that reveal how the writer created his works.
