The stadium's construction in 1955 marked the beginning of a new sports era in Surdulica, serving as the permanent home ground for FK Radnik football club.
The stadium walls display local heritage through painted murals behind the southern main stand, representing the connection between sports and community values.
Following the 2015 renovations, the stadium received new floodlights and modernized facilities, with an investment of 40 million Serbian dinars.
In 2018, the Serbian Cup final between FK Partizan and FK Mladost Lučani took place at this stadium, resulting in FK Partizan's sixth title.
