The church features a triconchal nave design with barrel vaulting and three conches that directly support one another, showcasing architectural ingenuity.

Built upon ancient foundations from the 5th or 6th century, the church underwent multiple construction phases with additions continuing through the 19th century.

The interior contains 25 icons on its iconostasis and frescoes painted in 1866 depicting human figures and the Akathist cycle of the Mother of God.

Located 14 kilometers from Vladičin Han, the church stands on a ridge within the South Morava gorges, requiring dedicated travel planning to visit.

Archaeological evidence beneath the church structure indicates the presence of a monastery that operated during the Ottoman period in Serbia.
