Vujan, Mountain in Central Serbia
The peak of Veliki Vujan reaches 856 meters above sea level, surrounded by dense deciduous forests of beech and oak trees.
The name Vujan stems from Serbian words describing the sound of wind blowing through the dense woods on the mountainside.
The Vujan Monastery at the mountain base houses a wooden cross crafted by Serbian Patriarch Pavle during his time as a resident.
Visitors can access the mountain through a marked 15-kilometer trail starting near Gornji Milanovac, requiring approximately six hours to complete.
The Despotovica River cuts through a hill gorge along the slopes, creating a natural boundary in the mountain landscape.
