Pioneers Park, Belgrade

Pioneers Park is a green space in Stari Grad with various trees, paved paths, flower beds, fountains, and sculptures scattered across the grounds. The layout guides visitors through different sections, each with its own arrangement of plantings and features.

The site began as royal grounds, then served as a hospital facility before becoming public parkland in 1944. This shift from private to public use shaped what visitors experience today.

Buried beneath the grass are remains from Roman times, uncovered during excavations, showing that people have occupied this spot for nearly 2000 years. These ancient graves link the site's deep past to its current role as a public gathering space.
