Island of Krčedin

The Island of Krcedin is a river island in the Danube in Serbia that covers several square kilometers of land. The terrain features open grasslands mixed with willow forests that create a natural landscape shaped by water and vegetation.

The site developed as grazing land in the 1800s when people from the nearby village started bringing livestock across the Danube to this location. This use as a grazing ground has remained unchanged and continues to define the island today.
