Leninogorsk

Leninogorsk sits roughly 320 kilometers southeast of Kazan at an elevation around 250 meters in the Republic of Tatarstan. The town developed as an industrial center shaped by its role in oil production.

The settlement was founded in 1795 and granted town status in 1955 during Soviet administrative reforms. This transformation coincided with growth in the regional oil industry.
