Almetyevsk

Almetyevsk is a city in Tatarstan, Russia, spreading across gently rolling terrain and crossed by wide main roads. Residential blocks alternate with administrative buildings and public squares, while parks and green spaces sit between the built-up neighborhoods.

A small settlement appeared here in the mid-18th century and remained a rural administrative post for a long time. Expansion into a modern city began in the 1950s when oil deposits in the region were developed.

Birch forests and small wetlands still line the city edges, serving as rest stops for migratory birds in spring and autumn. Locals often use the paths along these natural strips for walking and mushroom picking.
