Rylsk

Rylsk is a town situated on the right bank of the Seym River in Kursk Oblast, positioned roughly 124 kilometers west of Kursk. It sits at an elevation of about 160 meters and functions as the local administrative center of its region.

The town was founded in 1152 as a settlement and later developed into an independent principality before falling under Lithuanian rule in the early 16th century. This shifting past shaped the region's development over many centuries.
