Shamil Tower is a three-tiered brick structure in Lgov built from red stone with decorative details throughout. The building features arrow-shaped windows that extend along its full height, creating a distinctive pattern across its walls.
The tower was built between 1870 and 1871 as part of Prince Baryatinsky's estate. It received its name from Imam Shamil, who is said to have prayed within it.
The tower blends Gothic forms with regional Russian building styles of the 1800s. Its red brick walls and arrow-shaped windows create a distinctive look that reflects the architectural traditions of that era.
The tower sits near Krasnaya Street in central Lgov and is accessible on foot from the main roads. Follow Karl Marx Street to find the structure in the town center.
It is the only remaining building from the former Lower Derevenki estate, where it originally functioned as part of the boundary fence. Its survival makes it a rare remnant from that era.
