Shamil Tower, Lgov, Gothic tower in Lgov, Russia
The red brick tower rises in three tiers with decorative elements and features arrow-shaped windows throughout its entire structure.
The tower, built between 1870 and 1871, belonged to Prince Baryatinsky's estate and received its name from Imam Shamil who performed prayers there.
This architectural monument combines elements of Gothic design with regional Russian construction techniques of the nineteenth century.
Visitors can reach the tower by taking Karl Marx Street in central Lgov and following the signs to Krasnaya Street.
The structure remains the single preserved building from the former Lower Derevenki estate, where it served as part of the original fence.
