Monument to City of Military Glory, Memorial obelisk in central Kursk, Russia
The granite monument rises 24 meters high, topped with a double-headed eagle and surrounded by four engraved stone plinths at its base.
The memorial was constructed in 2010 after Kursk received the City of Military Glory title in 2007, commemorating the city's role in World War II.
The monument forms part of a larger memorial complex that includes St George's Church, military equipment displays, and the Eternal Flame.
Visitors can find the monument between Prospekt Pobedy and Ulitsa Karla Marksa, near the northern entrance to the city center.
The four stone plinths surrounding the central obelisk contain detailed engravings depicting major military events in Kursk's history across different periods.
