Kurskiy oblastnoy krayevedcheskiy muzey, Regional history museum in Kursk, Russia
The Kursk Regional Museum contains over 181,000 exhibits including beads, porcelain, weapons, numismatics, paintings, rare books, furniture, and traditional costumes.
Founded by Nikolai Gordeev on May 6, 1903, the museum started with 10,000 exhibits and a library of 1,000 items by 1915.
The museum features three main departments focusing on nature, pre-revolutionary history, and Soviet society, presenting regional artifacts and traditions.
Located at Ulitsa Lunacharskogo 6, the museum opens Tuesday through Thursday and weekends from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, remaining closed on Fridays.
The museum building, dating from the 19th century, served as an episcopal manor before becoming a cultural institution.
