The Kursk Regional Museum is a history museum holding over 181,000 objects from different areas, including beads, porcelain, weapons, coins, paintings, rare books, furniture, and traditional clothing. The collection is organized into three sections covering nature, pre-revolutionary history, and Soviet society.

The museum was founded in 1903 by Nikolai Gordeev and started with 10,000 objects plus a library of 1,000 volumes. The collection grew steadily over the following years.

The museum displays objects that reflect how people in Kursk lived and what they valued across different periods. Religious items and crafted goods show the everyday habits and beliefs that shaped local life.
