The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius is an Orthodox chapel built at Kursk State University featuring white-painted decorative brickwork on its exterior walls. The structure displays characteristic kokoshnik arches and rhythmic pilasters that define its recognizable form.

Construction of the chapel started in 1999 with the consecration of the altar and was completed in 2007, with the entire project funded through public donations. This extended building period allowed careful execution of the design using community support.

The interior iconography was painted using traditional levkas techniques, with artists from the local university contributing to the work. This careful craftsmanship gives the space a distinct artistic character that becomes visible as you move through the chapel.

The chapel holds regular services and is located on a university campus that is most active during the academic year. Checking service times ahead of your visit helps you experience the building either during worship or when attending special religious events.

The design originated from a sketch by national artist Vyacheslav Klykov and was developed by architects Svetlana Andreeva and engineer Peter Klochkov. This collaboration among local designers shaped the building in ways visitors often do not initially recognize.
