The church displays white-painted walls made of decorative brickwork, featuring distinctive kokoshnik architectural elements and rhythmic pilasters at the drum base.
The construction began in 1999 with the consecration of the university chapel altar and continued until 2007, funded entirely through public donations.
The iconostasis contains paintings created by professors from the Art and Graphics Department of Kursk State University using ancient levkas techniques.
The church maintains regular services and operates a website providing information about worship schedules and religious events throughout the year.
The building design originated from a sketch by national artist Vyacheslav Klykov and was developed by architects Svetlana Andreeva and engineer Peter Klochkov.
