Petrovsky Stadium, Multi-purpose sports venue in Petrogradskaya storona, Russia.
Petrovsky Stadium is a sports ground in the Petrogradskaya storona neighbourhood, featuring a grass pitch that measures 105 by 68 metres (344 by 223 feet) in central Saint Petersburg. The complex covers roughly 1.5 hectares and includes a main stand alongside a smaller arena that can seat nearly 3000 spectators.
The ground opened on July 26, 1925, under the name Lenin Stadium and was entirely rebuilt after wartime destruction. Its current form emerged through several renovations, the most recent in the 1990s, when it became a modern club venue.
Between 1994 and 2017, this ground served as home to Zenit, the city's leading football club, where supporters gathered regularly to watch their team. The venue remains a familiar landmark for residents who remember the noise and excitement of match days before the club moved to a larger arena.
The complex sits roughly 150 metres (490 feet) from Sportivnaya metro station, making it easy to reach on foot. Around 450 parking spaces are available for those arriving by car, and the facility also includes press rooms and a conference hall for events.
Alongside the main pitch, there is a separate smaller arena often used for youth games or lower league competitions. This second playing surface allows multiple events to run in parallel without interfering with one another.
