Grand Choral Synagogue

The Grand Choral Synagogue is a house of worship in Saint Petersburg featuring neo-Mudéjar architecture and Moorish design elements throughout. The main prayer hall is spacious with a women's gallery running around it, while decorative details reflect the building's North African and Spanish architectural influences.

The building was authorized by imperial permission in 1869 and constructed over the following decades. The official consecration took place in 1893, marking the completion of this major project for the city's growing Jewish community.
