Tisulsky District

The district extends across 8,100 square kilometers in western Siberia, featuring mountainous terrain and dark taiga forests near the northern end of Kuznetsk Alatau range.

Established in 1924, this district underwent multiple administrative changes, belonging to Novosibirsk Oblast until 1943 before becoming part of its current Kemerovo Oblast location.

The settlements within Tisulsky District maintain traditional Siberian customs through seasonal fairs and exhibitions that display regional products across urban and rural communities.

The district contains three urban settlements and thirty-four rural localities, with Tisul serving as the administrative center providing essential services to residents.

The population distribution shows a notable urban concentration, with 58.4 percent of residents living in towns while 41.6 percent maintain rural lifestyles.
