Ivanovskie ozyora

Ivanovskie Lakes comprise four separate lakes positioned between two major mountains in Khakassia's mountainous terrain. These bodies of water connect to one another through waterfalls, creating an integrated system within the highland landscape.

The lakes formed through natural geological processes typical of limestone regions and later gained protection as a nature monument. This recognition established them as a significant site worthy of safeguarding.

The deepest lake in this system holds water to unusual depths for the region and constantly hosts fragments of ice. These frozen chunks regularly separate from frozen surfaces and drift like natural icebergs across the water.
