Ivanovskie ozyora

The Ivanovskie Lakes consist of four individual lakes connected by waterfalls, located between Mount Bobrovaya at 1674 meters and Mount Ararat at 1546 meters.

The lakes formed through karst processes and maintain permanent glaciers, establishing their status as a regional nature monument covering 41.8 square kilometers.

Local communities maintain winter sports traditions at these lakes, where natural snow conditions enable skiing and winter activities throughout most seasons.

The lakes remain accessible through guided tours from the Azhur base camp, offering five to eight hour excursions with mountain meals and necessary equipment.

The lower lake reaches depths of 147 meters, while ice fragments regularly break off into the water, creating natural icebergs throughout the lake system.
