The Kuznetsk Alatau Nature Reserve spans 401,812 hectares across three districts of Kemerovo Oblast, featuring mountain rivers, deep valleys, and glacial lakes.
The Russian government established the Kuznetsk Alatau Nature Reserve on December 27, 1989, to protect mountain ecosystems from geological exploration and forest industry impacts.
The Environmental Center serves as an educational hub for Kuzbass region, offering wildlife observation programs, nature exhibitions, and seasonal activities for children.
Visitors can access ten marked routes, including five river rafting paths, three snowmobile trails, and two summer hiking tracks through the mountainous terrain.
The reserve contains 32 glaciers at unusually low altitudes between 1,200 and 1,500 meters, covering an area of 6.79 square kilometers.
