Zaoksky District is an administrative area in northern Tula Oblast comprising multiple rural settlements and one urban center. The area encompasses a substantial territory with scattered communities connected by local infrastructure.
The district was established in 1924 as an administrative unit and initially belonged to Moscow Oblast. A major administrative shift in 1937 transferred it to Tula Oblast jurisdiction where it remains today.
