Volokolamskaya, Moscow Metro station
Volokolamskaya is a railway station on Moscow's newly opened regional train line, situated near the corresponding metro station on the western edge of the city. The facility features an island platform connected to a vestibule with sand-colored stone walls, spacious ticketing areas, and seating throughout.
The station opened shortly after the launch of Moscow's new regional train line, created as part of an expansion of rail connections on the city's western edge. It began operations just a day before the neighboring Penyagino station.
The station sits on elevated ground with clear views of the surrounding area and features sturdy stairs and waiting zones. Visitors should note that elevators and escalators are currently not operational, which can be challenging for luggage and accessibility needs.
The station offers surprisingly wide views across the surrounding landscape, forests, and residential areas, creating an open and spacious setting distinct from typical urban stations. Its elevated position on a hill with natural green areas makes it appealing to both commuters and casual walkers.
