Peterhof Grand Palace, Baroque palace in Petergof, Russia

The Grand Palace stretches along a terrace for almost 300 meters, connecting the Upper Garden with the Lower Park through its central position.

Peter the Great initiated construction of a two-story palace in 1715, which Elizabeth I later transformed through architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli between 1745 and 1755.

The Throne Room displays ornate stucco decorations, paintings, and historical narratives celebrating the achievements of Catherine II in classical design elements.

The Grand Palace opens daily except Mondays from April through October, with guided tours available in multiple languages for interior visits.

The Oak Study of Peter I remains preserved within the newer palace structure, maintaining its original Dutch-style wooden panels and period furnishings.
