The name references the nearby city of Smolensk in western Russia. You'll notice a genuine racing community here, where drivers and spectators know each other and share a passion for motorsport throughout the season.
The track is easily accessible from nearby Safonovo by direct roads, and parking is available for visitors. Races are more frequent on weekends, so arriving early helps you find a good spot to watch the action.
The track was designed by Hermann Tilke, the renowned architect behind many racing circuits worldwide. His design cleverly uses the natural landscape and balances high-speed sections with technical driving challenges.
