Айкуайвенчорр

Aikouayventchorr is a mountain summit in Murmansk Oblast standing about 1075 meters high with a modern ski complex that operates throughout the cold season. The site features multiple ski runs, chairlifts, and jumping platforms spread across approximately 30 kilometers of maintained trails.

The name comes from the Sami language and refers to female deities, translating to "Mountain with the head of God's mother". This naming reflects the deep historical connection between the mountain and the Sami peoples of the far north.

Local people call the mountain "the Sleeping Beauty" because its shape looks like a woman lying down when seen from a distance. This nickname is how many in the region describe and think about the place.

The mountain is accessible by modern chairlifts and offers trails for different skill levels throughout the long winter season. Visitors should prepare for extreme cold and bring proper winter gear for their time here.

The Aikouayvenyok River begins on the southern slope and flows downward through the surrounding valley below. The northern area holds FIS-certified jumping platforms where international ski jumping competitions take place.
