Tower of Water Gate

The Tower of Water Gate is a central structure within the Tula Kremlin complex, constructed with stone walls and characteristic architectural features from the 16th century. During the 1607 siege, Tsar Vasily Shuisky used water from the Upa River as a weapon to fight the rebels inside the fortress. This unusual maneuver, which essentially submerged the fortress, demonstrates the creativity in warfare during that period.
