Tower of Ivanovsky Gate

The Tower of Ivanovsky Gate is a defensive structure of the Tula Kremlin with a rectangular base and thick stone walls rising from the northern side of the complex. The building displays typical features of a fortress from this period, including sturdy foundations and openings designed for defense.

The structure was built in the early years of the 16th century as part of a new fortification system. It played a critical role when the city came under attack from invading forces in 1552 and helped withstand the assault.
