Tower of Ivanovsky Gate

The Tower of Ivanovsky Gate is a defensive structure of the Tula Kremlin with a rectangular base and thick stone walls rising from the northern side of the complex. The building displays typical features of a fortress from this period, including sturdy foundations and openings designed for defense.

The structure was built in the early years of the 16th century as part of a new fortification system. It played a critical role when the city came under attack from invading forces in 1552 and helped withstand the assault.

The Tower of Ivanovsky Gate shows Russian military architecture from the 16th century through its fortification design and stone construction. Visitors can observe the building techniques and structural details that reflect the defensive methods of that era.
